Just My Personal Opinion — Not Against Anyone
These days, I see many young guys going to the gym, lifting dumbbells, taking protein, building muscles, and so on.
Up to a certain age, I completely understand it. Staying fit and healthy is a good thing.
But as you grow older, the body naturally starts slowing down. Strength, stamina, flexibility and recovery are not the same as they were when you were young. Then I sometimes wonder — what happens when the body no longer agrees with what the mind wants to do?
Even in my younger days, I used to go for regular walks. I continued for many years, until I reached a stage where my mind wanted to continue but my body started giving different signals. There are times when you simply cannot do what you used to do.
So my thought is not about gym versus walking, muscles versus fitness, or young versus old.
It is simply this:
We should take care of our bodies while we can, but we should also learn to accept that the body has its own journey.
When age catches up, the question is not “How much can I lift?”
Maybe the more important question becomes:
“How well can I live with the body I have?”
Just a thought from someone heading towards old age. Nothing against anyone — strictly my personal opinion.
